Vacation Bible School connects Collins family
As part of this summer’s Vacation Bible School at Oak Grove Methodist Church, Hayden Collins helped children write letters to deployed soldiers and marines who are church members. One of the soldiers receiving these letters is his son, Zane Collins, who is currently serving in Iraq.
Hayden’s son Corey also participated in the program, leading outdoor activities for kindergarten and first grade children.
The Collins family enjoyed Friday’s graduation event for the church school program, recognizing that in addition to Bible-based lessons and activities, the program also provides children with opportunities to participate in the church’s outreach to the community. Hayden remembers receiving letters from home while he was serving overseas, and knows how much they mean to the soldiers – to know that their neighbors are thinking of them and praying for them.
