Hayden Collins, candidates speak at Bartow Republican Women’s meeting

Hayden Collins

Hayden Collins was among eleven candidates that spoke at the Republican Party headquarters in Cartersville on Thursday evening.  During his presentation, Hayden emphasized the need for smaller government, attracting businesses and jobs, and support for education.

Recognizing support for new ideas and new approaches, Hayden pointed out that no incumbent from this year’s Georgia General Assembly can claim they did not raise taxes or did not cut education.  Hayden’s concept of the Bridge School model was discussed by other candidates, as well. “These ideas are having an influence that reaches beyond Bartow County, and will go forward, regardless of who wins the Republican primaries, because a good idea is hard to stop.”

After the meeting, Hayden and Sandra Collins met supporters for dinner at a restaurant in downtown Cartersville.  The conversation included a healthy serving of issues, such as the multiple commissioner program for Bartow County, and concerns of the Altoona community including the distribution of SPLOST sales tax funds.  Hayden thanked the supporters for a great meal while supporting a local business, and for the questions about his and Sandra’s decision to run for State Representative.

Support for child advocacy commended at Exchange Club

Hayden Collins Exchange Club of Cartersville

Child advocacy is a major focus for the Exchange Club of Cartersville, and Hayden Collins appreciated the opportunity to talk with members at their June meeting about his family’s experience with foster care and community support for the protection and well-being of Bartow County’s children.

Hayden spoke about his role in the recent legislation to reform Georgia’s foster care system.  Among the questions and answers with the members afterward, the challenges and potential for Georgia’s schools, taxes, and immigration were also discussed. Hayden also highlighted the need for an incentive program for small businesses, and that waiting for big businesses to come to Georgia doesn’t support small business.

Hayden Collins thanks Dr. Paul Eberhard for the invitation to attend, and the Exchange Club members for their years of service for child advocacy and supporting the shelter – from which one of the Collins’ own adopted children personally benefited.
